James Dawson Klode died on April 1, 2012 at the age of 94. Born to Emil R. and Margaret Dawson Klode on January 4, 1918, Jim is survived by his children Carey Eyerly of Marshfield, MA; James, Jr. (Kristine) of Mequon, WI; Peter (Sharon) of West Bend, WI; and Frederick “Fritz” (Jill) of Richmond, IL. Further survived by eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; nephew Frank C. Klode, Jr. of Milwaukee; Bob Christy, Jr. of Madison; and Suzie (Tom) Quasius of Hudson, WI.

Jim was a retired Lt. Cmdr. in the USNR, former president of Klode Furniture Co. in Milwaukee, past commodore of the Sheboygan Yacht Club and a friend to many from Florida to the Yukon. All things considered, he’d rather be aboard his beloved Chinook.

The family thanks the wonderful staff at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at Union Grove.
