Elmer W. Paap, 91, of Franksville, passed away April 19, 2012 at Oak Ridge Care Center. He was born February 15, 1921 to William and Marie Paap in Racine, Wisconsin. He lived his entire life in Racine County and graduated from Union Grove High School. Elmer married the love of his life, Olga Lucca on July 19, 1963 and they had over 46 years together before her passing. Elmer supported his family by working hard as a farmer raising milking cows, steers, and pigs. He also worked second shift as a welder for Rexnord Corporation for over twenty years. Elmer was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Parish in Oak Creek.
Elmer is survived by his son, Richard (Carol) Paap; his grandchildren, Rick (Erin) Paap, Carla (Patrick) Roberts; and one great-grandchild, Mason. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Albert Lucca.
Elmer was preceded in death by his wife, Olga; his parents, William and Marie Paap; and by his siblings, Clarence Schenk, Verlie Grove, Wayne Paap, and Grace Gaylor.
The funeral service officiated by Rev. Dale Reckzin by will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church on 27th Street and Oakwood Road in Oak Creek on Monday, April 23, 2012 at 6 pm. Family and friends may visit from 4 pm until the time of the service.
The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff of Oak Ridge Care Center for the many years of caring for both Olga and Elmer. They would also like to thank the many nurses from Vitas Hospice who helped Elmer remain comfortable until the end.
