Union Grove-Alvin C. Ludwig, 92, passed away January 2, 2025, at Aurora Medical Center-Mount Pleasant. He was born October 4, 1932, to James and Mayme (née Knull) Ludwig. He was in the Burlington High School graduating Class of 1950. Alvin was a proud Army Veteran who served in the Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1954.

Alvin married Edith Himebauch on October 5, 1957, and they shared over 67 happy years together. He worked at several different jobs over the years, including at Burlington Brass Works, Clark Oil, and American Roller, where he retired from after 29 years of service.

Alvin is survived by his beloved wife, Edith; daughter, Tami (Steve) Soetenga of Burlington; grandchildren, David Soetenga of Burlington, Allie (Ben) Zusan of Burlington, Kasey Ludwig of Milwaukee; great-grandchildren, Makayle Ludwig, Kaylani Ludwig, Kaydence Ludwig, Henry Zusan, Emerson Zusan, and Keats Zusan; sister, Ellen (Eric) Larsen; sister-in-law, Alice Ludwig; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Alvin was preceded in death by his daughter, Lori Ludwig; his parents; Edith's parents; brothers, Ken, Ray, Jim, Otto, and David Ludwig; sisters, Judy David and Marge Busch; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no funeral services per Alvin's wishes and there will be a celebration of life at a later date.
