Barbara Anna Aichholzer, nee Stuckmann, 87, passed away on October 19, 2021. Beloved wife of Harold Aichholzer. Loving mother of Lynne (Paul) Ksiazek, Steven (Mary) Aichholzer and Laura (Steven) Antkowiak. Proud grandmother of Joseph (Elly), James (Paulina), Stephanie, Marissa, Matthew and Brett. Cherished great grandmother of Julia. Dear sister of Herman (Kathryn) and Walter (Arlene) Stuckmann. Fond sister-in-law to Ronald Aichholzer. Adoring aunt and godmother to many nieces and nephews.

Barbara was born at home in Chicago in the middle of the Great Depression to Herman and Hildegard Stuckmann. When her two older brothers, Herman and Walter, heard their new baby sister's hungry cries, they presented their mother with the only food in the house: a loaf of bread and two oranges. Barbara grew up working in her father's music store and loved to sing.

Barbara met Harold, her brother Walter's college roommate, at a party. The two fell in love and married February 6, 1954. Together they spent their early years of marriage stationed in Texas and then came home to Chicago. Barbara and Harold moved their growing family to Glenview, Illinois in the mid 1960's. Barbara volunteered in her children's schools and at their activities, and later became a world traveler with Harold during their World Book adventures.

After nearly 30 years, Barbara and Harold retired and moved to their cozy home in tranquil Paddock Lake, Wisconsin. With better views and a slower pace, Barbara was able to enjoy more of her favorite things like painting, crocheting, and spending time with her family and dear friends, who followed them to Paddock Lake. Barbara never turned down a visit and always cooked her guests a delicious meal.

Barbara had a silent power that was full of conviction and steadfast love. Knowing her meant that you tried to be a better person; one that could match her poise and integrity. Barbara was the mother who welcomed all into her heart and made each person feel like family. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 1704 240th Avenue, Kansasville, WI on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 am, officiated by Fr. Russ Arnett. Private burial to take place at a later date.
