Union Grove- Benjamin J. Hanke, 34, passed away February 27, 2023. Ben was born November 5, 1988 and graduated Union Grove Union High School Class of 2007. Ben was employed at Holtger Bro. Inc.  He also helped run the Spoerlein Family Farm. Spending time with his children and family was of the utmost importance to him.  Sophia and Wyatt enjoyed fishing and farming with him. Ben was known for loving to have a good time and his positive energy could take over a room. He enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing, hunting, off-roading on four wheelers and dirt bikes, and, of course, working on the farm. He especially loved driving and working on tractors and other machinery. Ben was a skilled mechanic and often worked on anything with an engine and moving parts around the farm. He was always ready and willing to lend a hand.

Ben is survived by his wife, Teesa; children, Sophia and Wyatt; parents, Terry Hanke and Dale Spoerlein, and Kevin and Laurie Hanke; siblings, Nicole (Michael) Goldberg, Angie (Matt) Arnold, Maggie Monson, Matt Spoerlein, and Curt (Ani) Spoerlein; sister-in-law, Tiara Jacobson; nieces and nephews, Julia, Gracie, Charlie, Lincoln, Alana, Ellie, Veda, Finn, and Fitch; grandparents, Larry and Leah Schulz; and many other aunts, uncles, nieces, relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be held at Miller-Reesman Funeral Home on March 4, 2023 from 11 am – 1 pm. Memorial service will begin at 1 pm. Please dress casually.
