Sturtevant - Buddy Collins, age 64, passed away at his residence on September 20, 2020. He was born in Indiana on April 17, 1956 to parents Elliott and Georgia (nee. Owslay). On April 9, 1983, he married the love of his life, Nancy Larson. Following their marriage, they resided in Sturtevant.

Buddy proudly served in the United States Navy and Army. From 1980-2002, he served in the Navy, with 12 of those years earning the rank as Chief, and finally Command Master Chief, the highest rank in the Navy. Following that, he served in the Army as a civilian worker in charge of a four state region for the ROTC Program (Reserve Officers' Training Corps). He also worked at Union Grove High School for two years as a special education teacher.

In Buddy's free time, he loved to hunt and fish, as well as spend time at his cabin in Viroqua. He also had a great love for animals, especially his dog, Bailey. Buddy will be remembered as a loving, hard working man that took care of his family. He will be dearly missed.

Buddy is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Nancy; children, Matt (Kelly), Bruce (Renee), Chris (Rachel), and Michelle (Matt); grandchildren, Kiley and Seth Collins, who affectionally called him G-Dog; siblings, Elliott, Kitty, and Leo; his beloved dog, Bailey; many other relatives, family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark; and brother, Tom.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, September 25, 2020 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Memorial services, officiated by Pastor John Fleming, and full military honors will immediately follow at 7:00 pm. Private burial at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
