Callan Lee Richter

Union Grove – Callan L. Richter, age 77, passed away on July 24, 2026, at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha. He was born and raised in Iowa on November 13, 1948, to parents, Bernard and Irene (nee. Thiele) Richter. Cal proudly served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he became a respected ramp agent at Northwest Airlines for many years.

Cal had a passion for home renovation and enjoyed flipping houses and remodeling spaces with care. A talented pianist, he found joy in playing music. Cal also loved the great outdoors; he enjoyed riding his bike and going camping. His granddaughters held a special place in his heart, and he cherished the time he spent with them.

Cal is survived by his sons, Barry (Nicole) Richter and Nathan Richter; granddaughters, Roslynn and Rylann Richter; siblings, Sharon (Gary) Niichel, Karen (Gary) Trei, Colette (Stewart) McCollum, Bonnie (Terry) Gregg, Mike (Karen) Richter, Judy (Bill) Schierholz, Annette (Brad) Seivert, and Jeff (Jody) Richter; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Cal was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Irene Richter; brother, Perry Richter; and the mother of his children, Linda Richter.

Visitation will take place at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church on August 11 from 9:30am – 11:30am with the Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 11:30. Burial and full military honors will take place at 1:00pm at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Cal’s honor can be made to St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church.
