Carleton Bernard Bissett, 73, passed away May 17, 2026, at Froedtert Hospital. Born November 6, 1952, he was the oldest of eight children to Bernard and Lois (Blackburn) Bissett. Carleton graduated with the Union Grove High School Class of 1970. He was a machinist at Twin Disc for many years, worked at Kirsan Engineering, and was also a truck driver in the construction industry.

Carl loved airplanes ever since he was an Air Force flight engineer working on Lockhead C-130 aircraft. He took flying lessons, made kit planes, and worked on planes whenever he could. He had many other hobbies including hunting, shooting, reading, and welding.   Family was important to Carl, and he made a point to establish relationships with his many nieces and nephews.

Carl is survived by his siblings, Kevin (Pam) Bissett, Kris (Rodney) Snell, Kenton (Mary) Bissett, Connie Nisen, Karen (Dan) Erickson, and Gregg (Judy) Bissett; nieces and nephews, Katie, Caleb, Clint, Kevin, Bradley, Emily, Ethan, Matthew, Michael, Steven, Jason, Joshua, Elisha, Amanda, Jake, Marcus, Lucas, Alex, Baylee, Bernie, and Audrey; as well as very good friends, Garland, Sherry, Tia, Mike, Ralph, Cory, and many others.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Lois and brother, Brent Bissett.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at Miller-Reesman Funeral Home on Friday, May 22 from 3-6 pm. Memorial service will begin at 6 pm.
