Carolyn Multhauf (née Dzioba), 92, of Union Grove. In the afternoon, on Thursday, February 29, 2024, Carolyn passed away peacefully of natural causes at Timber Oaks Care Center Union Grove, WI.

Carolyn was born on March 29, 1931, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of Walter Dzioba (né Swift) and Rose Dzioba (née Serdynski)

When Carolyn was in her early 20's she worked at Allen Bradley in Milwaukee, WI, for a short while. It was there that she met her future husband, Edward Multhauf. Riding home on the trolly after work one evening, Edward asked Carolyn on their first date. That is where their love story began. Carolyn and Edward were married on April 24, 1954, at Blessed Sacrament Church in Milwaukee, WI. They will have been married for 70 years this April.

Carolyn and Edward settled into their home in Milwaukee and raised their three sons, James,Theodore, and William. Carolyn and her family loved to spend time in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin where she and Edward built a small cabin in Elcho, WI. When visiting the Northwoods Carolyn enjoyed fishing, bird watching, and stargazing at the "tubes" on Upper Post Lake. Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. After some years, while she and Edward were raising their sons, she began a third shift job working as a Data Processor for First Wisconsin Bank in downtown Milwaukee, WI. She eventually retired from there. Her and Edward moved to Elcho,WI shortly after retirement to soak up more of the Northwoods. In her later years she and Edward moved to the Rochester and Burlington, WI area.

You could always find Carolyn sitting on her porch with a glass of iced tea and a book in her hand. She also enjoyed tending to her flowers, watching deer, and any other wildlife that would come through the yard. She was quite fond of Horses as well. Carolyn was a big Brewer baseball fan, if the Brewer's were playing, she would listen to the game on the radio while watching the game on the television with the volume off.

Carolyn loved when her sons and grandchildren would come for a visit. She was always interested to hear how everyone was doing and if she wasn't able to visit or talk with a family member that day, she always made sure to say, "give them a big hug and a kiss for me." Carolyn was a caring and selfless person.

Carolyn was very devoted to her faith and was involved with the Fransican Society for 25 years. This included the Secular Franciscan Order and the St. Paschal Babylon Fraternity, Wind Lake, WI. She was also involved with the Elcho Women's Auxiliary and enjoyed helping Veterans.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her Parents Walter and Rose Dzioba; Siblings Harry (Emma) Dzioba, Dick (Mary) & (Veronica) Swift, Len (Bernice) Swift, Ruth (Herbert) Popinski, Eleanore (Thomas) Mueller, Jean (Ralph) Ahlf, Marcia Swift

Carolyn is survived by her loving husband Edward Multhauf (who since passed away on April 9, 2024); Brother Robert Swift; Children James (Laurel) Multhauf, Theodore (Kathleen) Multhauf, William Multhauf; Grandchildren Rita Manka, Carl (Rhonda) Multhauf, Loren Multhauf, Jaime (Christina) Multhauf, Edward Multhauf, Amy Multhauf and Nathan (Kelsey) Multhauf; Great Grandchildren Erica and Katelynn Manka, Russell and Isabelle Multhauf, Stevie Multhauf, Noah, Joseph and Beau Multhauf, and Alexa Multhauf.

Services for both Carolyn and Edward will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church 305 S. First St. Waterford, WI. The Visitation will be at 10am, Service at 11am with a luncheon to follow. A burial ceremony for Carolyn and Edward will take place on Monday, April 22, 2024, at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery 21731 Spring St. Union Grove, WI.
