Cynthia (Cindi) Hansen age 74, of Union Grove passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Aurora Medical Center Kenosha with her family by her side. Born on May 31, 1951, to Carl and Norma Nisen, she spent her life growing up in Union Grove and attending local schools graduating from Union Grove High School, in 1969.

After high school, she began a 44-year career at Southern Wisconsin Center, where she worked in various roles supporting individuals with disabilities. There, she met Ron Hansen, the father of her children; they were married for 27 years before divorcing in 2010.

Her greatest achievement in life was being a loving mother to her daughters, Angie and Nichole. She devoted herself to raising them by being an active participant in everything from school PTA meetings to leading youth group at church and supporting them in their 4H activities. She will be remembered for being their biggest cheerleader.

Cindi had a passion for creativity, music, and travel. She found joy in card making, sewing, needle point, and cross stitch expressing her love through handmade treasures. She sang in her church choir for 40yrs and loved attending concerts and plays with her church friends. Her travels took her to many places over the years including London England, Disney World, Key West, Las Vegas, Branson and many national parks along with a week every summer visiting her parents at their home in the northern Wi where many cherished family memories were made. She had a lucky streak and won drawings for a few of these trips over the years, the biggest one being a trip for the whole family to Disney World from a drawing at McDonalds.

In her later years she enjoyed meals with friends at Country Rose and Diet Coke at McDonalds, she loved getting out and being around people.  She also enjoyed bingo with friends and was always excited to tell you how many rounds she won and the prizes she had gotten.

Cindi leaves behind her daughter, Angie Hansen, siblings Charlotte (Joe) Mott, Bonnie (Jim) Hansen, Diane (Russ) Newman, Jeff Nisen, Sherry (Mike Schmidt) Martin, and Kevin Nisen.  Many nieces, nephews and friends as well as great nieces and nephews who held a very special place in her heart. She is also survived by the father of her children, Ron Hansen.

Cindi was preceded in death by her daughter, Nichole, and her parents, Carl and Norma. Numerous Aunts and Uncles and her Grandparents and Great Grandparents.

A celebration of Cindi's life will take place on Saturday, March 21 at Yorkville United Methodist Church a wake from 10am -12pm and service and burial to follow. Friends and family are invited to join in honoring her memory and sharing the stories that made her so special to all of us.

As we say goodbye to Cindi, let us remember her with love and laughter, celebrating the remarkable woman she was and the indelible mark she left on our lives.
