Union Grove- David (Dave) D. Ludwig, 76, died peacefully in his Union Grove home on Sunday, July 12, 2020. Born in Burlington, WI on December 18, 1943, he was the son of the late Christian and Violetta (Gall) Ludwig.  David spent his childhood in Brighton, WI where he attended St. Francis Xavier Elementary School.  He then went on to the Salem Central High School.

On February 24, 1973, Dave married Sally Stoxen, daughter of the late Preston and Helen (Griffiths) Stoxen, at St. Francis Xavier Church in Brighton.  In 1998, he retired from Chrysler Motors in Kenosha, WI.  Dave's hobbies included woodworking, going to the races, collecting die cast cars and spending time with his grandchildren.  He also enjoyed yard work.

Dave is survived by his wife, Sally; daughter, Heather (John) Rathbone; son, Corey (Denise) Ludwig; grandchildren, Tanner Grace Ludwig, and Wyatt Cotton Ludwig.  He is also survived by sister, Joyce Dempsky; brother, Eugene (Darlene) Ludwig; sister-in-law, Ann Ludwig; and many nieces and nephews.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Christian and Violetta Ludwig; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Betty Ludwig; Christian and Jean Ludwig; Ray (Whavan) Ludwig; Donnie Ludwig; and brother-in-law, Clarence (CJ) Dempsky.

Graveside services will be held at St. Francis Xavier Church Cemetery, 1704 240th Avenue, Brighton, WI 53139 on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at 10:30 am, officiated by Fr. Russell Arnett.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to St. Francis Xavier Church in Brighton.
