Union Grove – Denny Lee Nelson, 70, passed away on September 26, 2016 at Burlington Rehabilitation Center. He was born March 24, 1946 to Howard and Grace (nee Steffen) Nelson at St. Luke's Hospital in Racine, WI. Denny graduated from Union Grove Union High School in 1964. Denny was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for people. He worked in the food industry his whole life, sometimes as a product demonstrator at grocery stores or at different cooperate offices but most recently at the UW-Parkside cafeteria. He owned a piano/ music store in Elmwood Plaza for several years. Denny loved spending time with his family and his many nieces and nephews were like children to him.

Denny is survived by his sister, Beverly Nelson Lange of Kiel, WI and sister-in-law, Audrey Nelson of Dousman, WI; special niece, Carrie (Daryl) Kolb of Union Grove; nieces, Wendy (Jack) Schnelle of Cleveland, WI, Sandra (DuWayne) Dhein of Sheboygan, WI, Debbie (William) Street of Ellison Bay, WI, Shelly King of Sheboygan, WI; nephews, John (Rhonda) Nelson of Kenosha, James Nelson, and Jeff (Renee) Nelson all of Racine; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Denny was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Grace; his brother, James; and brother-in-law, Lionel "Lefty" Lange.

Family and friends may gather at Raymond Seventh Day Adventist Church Cemetery on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 11 am for the graveside service officiated by Pastor Manda Stack that will begin at 11:30 am. Denny's wish was to be cremated and he will be buried with his parents at Raymond Seventh Day Adventist Church Cemetery.

A heartfelt thank you to the Burlington Rehabilitation and Care Center Staff. They were so wonderful to Denny during his time there.
