Union Grove - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Donald William Molitor, a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished member of our community. Don (Big D) peacefully departed from this world on October 26, 2023, leaving behind a legacy that will be forever celebrated.

Born on May 4, 1930, in his beloved home of Racine, Wisconsin, Don was a man who embraced life and its abundant adventures with unwavering enthusiasm. Don retired from Farmers Grain and Supply Co-Op in Union Grove where he worked in the fertilizer department. His passion for the outdoors knew no bounds, whether it be hunting in the rugged terrain of Wyoming or casting his line in the pristine waters of the Canadian lakes. He found solace and excitement in these pursuits and made countless treasured memories along the way.

Don had a zest for life that extended beyond the natural world. He was an avid fan of horseracing, enjoying the thrill of the track as he cheered on his favorite contenders. In the company of loved ones, he relished in the camaraderie of happy hour, sharing laughter and stories that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of joining him.

Sports were another passion that Don held dear. He was a devoted fan of the Milwaukee Brewers, the Green Bay Packers, and the Wisconsin Badgers. His enthusiasm knew no bounds as he passionately supported these teams, often engaging in spirited discussions about their performances with friends and family.

Don's service to his country played a significant role in his life. As a Korean War Air Force Veteran, his dedication and bravery were unwavering. He proudly served his nation, and later in life, he had the privilege of participating in the Honor Flight program, where he visited Washington, D.C., and paid tribute to his fellow servicemen.

Don leaves behind a trail of beautiful memories and a family who loved him dearly. He is survived by his devoted spouse, Muriel Molitor, his loving daughters, Lori Wilson, Connie (Jeff) Brown; son, Don Molitor; and his grandson, Colin; siblings, Sandy (Larry) Steuck and Gerry (Rita) Molitor; brother-in-law, Gene (Leslie) Shumann; nephew Scott (Lynn) Molitor; and many other relatives and friends. Their lives were forever enriched by his presence, and he will be deeply missed.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; Albert and Marjorie (nee. Fritchen) Molitor; and brother, Wayne Molitor.

A celebration of his remarkable life will be held on November 6, 2023, at Miller Reesman Funeral Home from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm with a memorial service to begin at noon. Burial and full military honors will immediately follow at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.  Don's infectious spirit and zest for life will undoubtedly be felt throughout the ceremony as we remember the joy he brought into our lives.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight program in honor of Don's service and the profound impact it had on his life. The memory of his selfless dedication will forever be cherished.

Don Molitor lived a life filled with passion, laughter, and enduring love. Though our hearts ache at the loss we now face, let us be comforted by the indelible mark he left on our lives. May his soul find eternal peace, knowing the impact he made during his time with us will never be forgotten.
