Franklin – Douglas F. Hubatch is once again dancing with his best friend, Maryann. Douglas passed away at Oak Creek Place on August 11, 2023. He was born November 2, 1931, grew up in Bay View, and graduated from Bay View High School Class of 1949. He was a proud US Air Force Veteran and served during the Korean War. Douglas married the love of his life, Maryann Lorraine (Schraufnagel), on September 9, 1961, and they were together for 56 years until her passing in 2018. They were members of Blessed Sacrament Church. Doug and Maryann did a lot of traveling and cruising together and especially enjoyed going to Hawaii and Italy. Douglas retired from Harnischfeger Corporation where he had worked in shipping. Both Douglas and Maryann were devoted grandparents, never missing one of Joshua or Danielle's sporting events or milestone celebrations and made sure to be an active part of their lives.

Douglas is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Laura Lee Hubatch; grandchildren, Joshua and Danielle Hubatch; and many cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 18, 2023 from 9:30 am - 11 am at Divine Mercy Church in South Milwaukee. Mass of Christian Burial officiated by his good friend, Fr. Mark Payne, will begin at 11 am followed by full military honors. Burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery will immediately follow.
