Union Grove- Edward Bodamer, 103, passed away January 6, 2021 at the VA Nursing Home – Gates Hall. He was born December 16, 1917 to William and Mary (Wahowski) Bodamer in Greenfield, WI. Ed served in the Army Aircorp from 1941-1945 and was stationed in India, Marianas Islands, and Tinian Islands as a mechanic in the Air Service Group. He worked as a machinist for Harvester, Heil Company-Milwaukee, and Economy Bushing. He retired in 1971. He learned his craft by helping Bill, his brother work on cars as a mechanic through the depression.

Ed enjoyed traveling to California and Alabama in his Pontiac Sunbird. He also loved going to Eagle Park with his family to watch the people, birds, dogs, and kids. His favorite foods were bologna, mini pies, potato chips, and soda. His favorite restaurants were Wendy's and Dominos Pizza. He enjoyed watching his bird houses and squirrels out his window.

Ed is survived by his daughter, June Bodamer, her brother Barry and their families. He is further survived by his nieces Audrey Hoese (Karl Hoese), Mary Ann Miller (Drexel Miller), Great nephew Gary Zimmermann (Friend Joanne Dudkiewicz), great-great nieces Sarah Grubb (Jonathan Grubb), Jennifer Zimmermann, great great nephews Andy Anders (Shannon Anders), Travis Hoffman (Christina Hoffman), great great great nieces Alison DeFaut ( Matthew DeFaut), Kaitlyn Anders, Savannah Hoffman, Rachel Anders, great great great nephews Bailey Carrier, Austin Anders, Matthew Carrier, Kyle Carrier, Landon Hoffman, Owen Anders and great great great great niece Emerie DeFaut.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers (George Bodamer (Florence) and William "Bill" Bodamer, and one sister Katherine Hoving (Jim), great niece and nephew Sharon and Joseph Hoffman.

The family would like to extend a huge thank you to the Union Grove Veterans home for the care and friendship he was given since 2002. We would also like to thank the team from Aurora Hospice for their care and friendship since 2019.

Visitation and prayers will be held at Miller-Reesman Funeral Home Monday February 1 ^st, 2021 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. Full military honors will take place at 1 pm at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in Union Grove, WI. Burial will immediately follow.
