Edward Theodore Multhauf, 93, of Union Grove. In the morning, on Tuesday, April 9th, 2024, Edward passed away peacefully of natural causes and quite possibly a broken heart from the recent passing of his dear wife Carolyn, at Timber Oaks Care Center Union Grove, WI.

Edward was born on December 11, 1930, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he was the Son of Edward and Genevieve Multhauf (née Petrykowski)

At a young age, Edward began his long-time career at Allen Bradley in Milwaukee, WI. It was there that he met his future wife, Carolyn. One evening, while riding home from work on the trolley, Edward asked Carolyn on their first date- this is where their love story began. In 1951, Edward was drafted to fight in the Korean War, he served as a Corporal. Once Edward returned home from the War he continued his relationship with Carolyn along with his work at Allen Bradley. Not long after his return, he married the love of his life, Carolyn, on April 24, 1954, at Blessed Sacrament Church in Milwaukee, WI. They would have been married for 70 years this April.

After marriage, Edward and his wife settled into their home in Milwaukee and raised their three sons James, Theodore, and William. Edward and his family loved to spend time in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin where he and Carolyn built a small cabin, in Elcho, WI. When visiting the Northwoods Edward enjoyed fishing, bird watching, and stargazing at the "tubes" on Upper Post Lake. Edward was a devoted husband and father. Once he retired, Edward and Carolyn moved to Elcho, WI to soak up more of the Northwoods because they loved it so much.

Edward was a fun and loving Grandfather. He loved music and enjoyed sharing that passion with his grandchildren. He would play the piano and record the children singing. He made homemade instruments out of whatever he could find. Then he and the children would have fun playing the instruments together. He enjoyed putting up his old Army tent for family get-togethers in the summer for the kids to sleep in, he even made taking the garbage to the "dump" neat! Edward also had a love for hand carving wood. He would spend many hours carving in his small basement workshop. His favorite things to carve were tree trolls and Santa's. In his retirement years, Edward was very proud to say that he was an Elcho Hornet; he had hoped that one day his grandchildren would move to the Northwoods and become a fellow Hornet. This did come true many years later! Edward enjoyed going to the school concerts and supporting the Elcho community. Most of all Edward was very proud of his family and all of their accomplishments. He loved it when his sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren would come for a visit.

Edward was devoted to his faith and was involved with the Franciscan Society for 25 years. This included the Secular Franciscan Order and the St. Paschal Babylon Fraternity, Wind Lake, WI. He was also involved with the 40/8 American Legion; he was the Commander and Chaplain for several years as well as sang in the Elcho Choir.

Edward was preceded in death by his Parents Edward and Genevieve Multhauf; wife Carolyn Multhauf (née Dzioba), Siblings Robert (Marilyn) Multhauf, Judith (Frank) Cerutti.

Edward is survived by his Children; James (Laurel) Multhauf, Theodore (Kathleen) Multhauf, William Multhauf; Grandchildren; Rita Manka, Carl (Rhonda) Multhauf, Loren Multhauf, Jaime (Christina) Multhauf, Edward Multhauf, Amy Multhauf, and Nathan (Kelsey) Multhauf; Great Grandchildren Erica and Katelynn Manka, Russell and Isabelle Multhauf, Stevie Multhauf, Noah, Joseph and Beau Multhauf, and Alexa Multhauf.

Services for Edward and Carolyn will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church 305 S. First St. Waterford, WI. The Visitation will be at 10am, Service at 11am with a luncheon to follow. A burial ceremony for Edward and Carolyn will take place on Monday, April 22, 2024, at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery 21731 Spring St. Union Grove, WI.
