Edwin John Fonk "Fast Eddie" passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and longtime friend Rita Weis on October 22, 2025, at his home in Paris Township. He was born on January 28, 1949, to Arthur and Adele (nee Markiewicz) Fonk. He graduated from Westosha Central High School in Salem, WI. His career was long and varied starting in high school working at Brat Stop. He then became part owner of Fubar and on to maintaining their sewage treatment plant at the Maple Leaf Duck Farm. Eddie was a hard worker, while he was working at Abbotts Labs, he and his former wife, Kathy, owned and operated Tin Cup bar before selling in 1981. He went on to retire from UW Parkside as a maintenance mechanic. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, car shows and driving classic muscle cars he restored. His favorite was his 1971 Chevelle that he bought new and cherished being the sole owner of it, he would be buried with it if he could. Eddie was known for folding dollar bills into rings, roses, and bowties and leaving them as service tips and tokens of affection.

Eddie is survived by his son, Travis (Kellie) Fonk; grandsons, Cameron and Aidan; his ex-wife Kathy Kay; and siblings Jim (Francis) Fonk, Kathleen Sieger, Gerrie (Frank) Craig, Raymond (Linda) Fonk, and Alan (Phyllis) Fonk.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Mark, Paul, and Carl and his brother-in-law, Karl Sieger.

Celebration of "Fast Eddies" life for family and friends will be held at Miller-Reesman Funeral Home on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 11 am – 1 pm.
