Bristol – Elinore W. "Ellie" Callahan (nee Gawlikoski), 87, passed away at St. Catherine's Medical Center on March 9, 2025. She was born August 2, 1937, to Adam and Helen (nee Gliniecki) Gawlikoski in Stratford, WI where she grew up and graduated from Stratford High School. After graduation, Ellie worked as a telephone operator for Wisconsin Bell, which later moved her to Kenosha, WI where she met the love of her life, John J. Callahan. They were married September 5, 1959, at St. Joseph's Church in Stratford, WI. During their 65 wonderful years of marriage, they raised 4 children together.

Ellie was a loving and supportive wife, mother, and grandmother. Her home was always filled with delicious smells of baking and her excellent cooking. Her chocolate chip cookies were legendary. She gardened with her sister, Sylvia, and canned her produce every year. Ellie's favorite thing to do was spending time with her family, playing cards, games, and making puzzles with her grandchildren. Ellie always had fun winning at the casinos. Ellie enjoyed traveling and especially taking the winter trips with John after retirement. She and John were members of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish.

Ellie is survived by her husband, John; children, Mike (Pam) Callahan, Scott (Amy) Callahan, Peggy Callahan, and John P. (Yanling Xie) Callahan; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Brandon TeVrucht) Callahan, Nic Callahan, Cassie Krikau, Anna (Nick) Callahan-Kehler; great-grandchild, Madelyn TeVrucht; brother, Gary (Charlene) Gawlikoski; and many nieces and nephews.

Ellie was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Julian, Edwin, Bea, Sylvia, Angie, Roman, and Virginia Schoen.

A visitation will be held on March 19, 2025 from 10:00am - 11:00am at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11:00am.
