Union Grove - Evelyn Mae Goebel (nee Fels), 87, passed away tragically due to a car accident on August 30, 2016. She was born April 8, 1929 to Fredrick and Elsie (nee Shanklin) Fels in St. Louis, Missouri. She married Earl Goebel on September 10, 1948 in Piggott, Arkansas. They did not have children but they enjoyed their association with their fellow members of the Union Grove Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Evelyn worked for a time as a bookkeeper for Associated Fund Investment Company. The hobbies she enjoyed included sewing, playing the piano, reading, and putting puzzles together.
On September 2, 2016, Earl followed Evelyn in death as a result of the same accident.

A Memorial Service for both Evelyn and Earl will be held at Union Grove Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Braun Road on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 2 pm.
