Racine - Hayes Smith, Jr., 58, died January 9, 2016 in Racine, Wisconsin. Hayes was born on December 20, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois. He was one of eleven children. He was an active minister and cared deeply for his community. He was a member of the RAMAC (Racine Area Manufacturing and Commerce, Inc.) and also the Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce.

He was survived by his wife, Colette and son, Hannibal (Jamie) and two grandchildren (Zora and Thelonious). His mother Josie Mae; aunt Martha; brothers, Sam, Harvey, Alonzo, Dale, Denver, Anthony, and Derrick; and sisters, Norma Jean, Shirley, and Michelle. He is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his father, Hayes, Sr.; brothers, Willie Davis and Michael; and sister, Hattie.

A memorial service will be held in the spring of 2016 in his home town of Chicago, Illinois. Flowers for the family may be sent to the Miller-Reesman Funeral Home or donations can be sent in his honor to the Racine YMCA.
