Ione Tindle went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at the age of 96.

Ione was born to Charles and Elizabeth Fay on September 18,1926 in Chicago, Illinois.

She lived there with her siblings, Charles ( Bill ), Mary Elizabeth ( Betty ), Edwin ( Ed ) and John.

In 1946, she was married to Arthur Tindle and moved to his hometown of Nokomis, Illinois.

There she began to teach school in a one room schoolhouse.

In 1958, they had a daughter, Fay. In that same year, they moved to Fontana, Wisconsin.

She began teaching first grade at Walworth Elementary and continued there for 30 years until her retirement.

Ione was one of the founding members of the Walworth Bible Church.

She had a true love for music, children and missions. She was a choir member, soloist and music librarian and spent many years as director of the Calvary String Band and Chorus.

Her passion for children took her to being director of Awana and other Christian kids clubs, serving in Bible Day Camps and hosting backyard and in home Bible clubs. She also served as children's Bell Choir director. She was privileged to participate in Honduras Missions trips for several years and was a faithful supporter of various short and long-term missionaries.

Ione enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, playing board games, camping, riding the motorcycle with Art and entertaining.

She was a member of Calvary community church.

Ione is survived by her daughter, Fay (Steve) Hess and two grandchildren, Callie and Brody.

Visitation will be held at Calvary Church in Williams Bay, WI on February 10, 2023 from 9-10:45 am. Services will begin at 11 am.

In  lieu of flowers the family has asked that any memorial gifts be paid to Calvary Community Church for the Global Partnership Missions board to provide needed additional funding for missionaries.  Currently Syd and Andrea Sparks are in need of funds for their moving and transition expenses as they return to the states.
