Salem - Jacqulyn L. Hughes, age 77, passed away on March 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Jacki was born August 29, 1947, and spent most of her childhood years with her loving Grandparents.   She graduated from Zion Benton High School in 1965, where she found joy in music as a member of the school band. Her early career began right out of high school at Fort Sheridan Army Base, where she contributed her skills with dedication and pride. She went on to work at the Kenosha County Child Support Agency as a court clerk for over 18 years.

Jacki was a hardworking and caring mother, dedicated to raising her children and later, her grandchildren, whom she loved unconditionally. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life; such as playing cribbage, engaging in many bowling leagues, admiring our beautiful eagle, loved huskies, and would never pass up a slot machine.

After retiring, she indulged her adventurous spirit, traveling with her best friend, Val, and hitting every casino along their journeys, creating memories that reflected her love for fun and friendship.  Jacki will be remembered for her lightheartedness, quick wit and desire to be surrounded by a good sense of humor.  For those who know, know she was always "peachy" regardless the situation.

Jacqulyn is survived by her children, Ronald (Pam) Bock, Yancy (Trudy) Lozo, Susan Bowers (Ryan), David Hughes (Priscella), and Richard (Alexis) Nelson; grandchildren, Rachel, Anthony, Danielle, Sarah, Justin, Tyler, Alyssa, Tori Anne, Stevi, Shane, Kevin, and Alayna; twelve great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; brother, Donald Chapman; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Jacqulyn was preceded in death by her children, Tonya Bock and Steven Hughes; grandparents, Emma and Harold Kirk; parents, Evelyn and Orval Reed; father, Curtis Chapman; and sister-in-law, Patricia Chapman.

A visitation will be held at the funeral home on April 7 from 12pm – 2pm with a service to begin at 2pm. Burial at Wilmot Cemetery will immediately follow.
