James Daniel Larsen passed away in his home on Wednesday, 4/22/2020.  He was born 7/16/1934 in Kenosha and was the third of four sons born to Arthur and Gertrude (Saeger) Larsen.  Jim was a decorated Army veteran (Paratrooper) and served during the Korean War.  After the war, he met the love of his life, Mona Volkmann, and the two were married on 02/24/1960 and enjoyed 49 years together in their home in Bristol where they raised their three children. Jim was an avid animal lover and so it was natural for him to fill his life with the many animals, both domestic and wild, which found a free meal at his home. He loved partaking of a meal and visiting with friends at the Bristol 45 Diner where he was known for his smile and generous nature. Jim's church family was also very important to him and he could found attending service on Saturday evenings at Trinity Lutheran Church in Union Grove. Jim was preceded in death by his wife Mona in 2008 and is survived by his son David (Cyndy) Larsen and two daughters Kim Brixius and Connie (Scott) Aney. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren Nicole Larsen, Josh Larsen, Devyn Larsen, George (Michelle) Brixius, RaeAnn (Nick) Fahnrich, Ashley Larsen Aney, Kyle Aney, and James Aney, as well as two great grandchildren Raegan Brixius and Arabella Grant Aney.
