James Mack
James David Mack, 85, of Union Grove, Wisconsin died peacefully Sunday, April 5, 2020.
He was born on January 29, 1935, to Donald and Lucille (Harden) Mack in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
He served in the U. S. Navy from 1952 to 1955 and toured the Orient among other places. He
maintained the ship's radar on DD567 (Watts) and learned electronics while in the service. After the
Navy, he married Leone (Tudy) Plude on February 9, 1957, and raised three children. While raising the
family he enjoyed numerous camping and fishing trips, took his family on summer long travel excursions
throughout the West, enjoyed gardening, building solar collectors and heating the home with a wood
stove.
While a resident at the WI Veteran's Home at Union Grove he was able to enjoy and participate in
numerous social activities which included, but were not limited to, Christmas celebrations, Bingo,
Veteran's Day observations, Picnics, the Annual Vet's fishing outing and most of all playing his snare
drum in jam sessions at the VA and participating in performances at local elementary schools.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents Donald and Lucille Mack, his former wife and good friend Tudy
Mack, and his brother Bill Mack. He is survived by his brothers Denny Mack and Ron Mack; sister Penny
Mack; two sons Steve (Bonnie) Mack; Tim (Kathy) Mack; a daughter Laura (Don) Hauschild; and a
granddaughter Kristine Mack.
The family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the all those that provided outstanding care to
our dad at the WI Veteran's Home at Union Grove – thank you!
Unfortunately, these times do not allow any traditional services or gatherings. Jim will be cremated and
will receive a full military service interment in the future in the Union Grove Veteran's Cemetary.
