Waukesha – James Nowak, age 70, passed away on April 30, 2020 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home – Gates Hall. He was born on August 1, 1949 in Milwaukee to parents Eugene and Jeanette (nee. Gaber) Nowak. James proudly served during the Vietnam War in the United States Marine Corps. as a Sergeant, working as a Radio Operator.

He will always be remembered as a loving father, raising both of his daughters on his own - "The best you could ever have". James dedicated his entire life to his daughters, grandchildren, and family. He was always there when you needed him and would help anyone out. James will be dearly missed.

James is survived by his loving daughters, Nikki Nee (Jeff Zeimet) and Noel (Dan) Bersch; grandchildren, Morgan Nee, Jake and Jenna Bersch; many great-grandchildren; sisters, Jeannie Deutscher and Jackie Howe; many other relatives, family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry Nowak; brother-in-law, Karl Deutscher.

Visitation will be held at Miller-Reesman Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 from 10:00 am - 12:15 pm, with prayers beginning at 12:15 pm. Burial will immediately follow at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 1:00 pm. Full military honors will be held at a later date.
