James R. Proud Sr., 87, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2017, at
Brookside Care Center, Kenosha, WI.

Jim was born December 4, 1929 in Duluth, MN. The son of the late Lyle R. and Sarah M. Proud,
he was the oldest of 5 children. He joined the Air Force while living in San Diego, CA. He was
stationed in Luton, England, where he met his wife of 61 years, Irene Kendall. When Jim retired
from the Air Force they first moved to Grand Rapids, MN, then to Kenosha, where Jim was
employed by Kenosha Auto Transport (KAT). He retired from trucking in 1991. In his younger
days, Jim enjoyed driving in stock car races and followed auto racing throughout his life. He
enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed travelling to California,
Nevada, and Texas with Irene.

Jim is survived by his 3 daughters, Ann (late James) Jolicoeur, Lynn (Donnie) Wilburn, Donna
Binninger; 2 sons, James (Vicky) Proud Jr., Joseph Proud; 9 grandchildren; 12 greatgrandchildren; 1 brother, Richard Proud, California; 1 sister, Maryann Bentley, Idaho.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene; his parents, Lyle Sr. and Sarah, California; 2
brothers, Lyle Proud Jr., California; Robert Proud, Nevada; 1 sister, Janet Key, Nevada.

Jim will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Memorial services will be held
Monday, June 26th, 2017 at 12:00 noon at Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery, Union Grove, WI. His
interment will take place immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial
remembrances may be made to the Safe Harbor Humane Society, 7811 60th Avenue Kenosha,
WI. The Miller-Reesman Funeral Home of Union Grove is serving the family.
