Sussex - James M. "Too Tall" Major, 73, was born to eternal life on January 22, 2016 at Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center. James is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Matt Major (Sarah), Justina Makia, Dennis Flink (Dawn), Duane Flink, Donna Flink (Chad), Mark Gallegos, and John Gallegos; Sisters, Kathlene (Dennis) Dowling, and Mary Ellen Gapinski; grandchildren, Malina, Makale, Dylan, Dana, Holly, Robert, Nathan, and Jake; and nieces and nephews.

James was born November 13, 1942 to Grandville and Evellin (Drolshagen) Major in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Jim married Carol L. Gribben in 1982. Jim was a proud Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War, he was stationed in Germany. A Wisconsin native, but also spent 14 years of his life in New Mexico. He was an over-the-road truck driver for many years. Jim was an avid college basketball fan and knew all the statistics. Also, a dedicated Green Bay Packer fan.

James was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Ricky Gallegos; his sister, Barbara (Ron) Weaver; and his niece Monica Major.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at Miller-Reesman Funeral Home on Friday, February 5, 2016 from 12:30-2:30 pm. Burial with full military honors at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery will follow at 3 pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate James's life.
