Jane entered the world at St. Catherine's Hospital, on November 23, 1934, the first child of her loving parents Ed and Louise (Reuter) Holland. '34 not being the best of times economically, Ed relocated his young family to Canada in the pursuit of work.  Luckily, they were only there a few years and were able to return to Kenosha - where the extended Holland and Reuter clans began to flourish.  Ed and Louise made a personal contribution by blessing Jane with 3 younger siblings – John, Linda and Paul.

Jane spent the remainder of her childhood in Kenosha, graduating from Bradford, class of '52.  She became a teaching assistant and was inspired to pursue a degree in education, graduating from Dominican College with a BA in '56.  Upon graduation, she began work as a kindergarten teacher at Roosevelt - but a formal teaching career was not to be.

While attending college, she worked at her uncle's bakery (then Reuter's, now Oliver's) on the weekends.  It was at the bakery where she not only mastered the art of baking, but also met the love of her life, Raymond Arbet.  Ray was a farmer and worked at Nash, Jane was a city-girl – the whole thing couldn't have made any more sense.  Love blossomed quickly and they were married at St. Anthony's on December 28, 1957.

Between 1958 and 1967, Jane and Ray added 5 kids to their Paris farmstead – Jane, Ray, Mary, Mike and Judy.  Needless to say, the roles Jane now had – wife, mother and farm business manager, pretty much ruled out her being away from the family and farm.   She adapted and mastered her new roles quickly.

Jane loved music - Perry Como, Andy Williams, Lawrence Welk, Broadway showtunes and her favorite movies were the Sound of Music and Sister Act.  Jane loved to sing and was an accomplished pianist, organist, auto-harp and accordion player.  She made certain all 5 kids grew up with a healthy exposure to all things musical.

When the kids were old enough, she got them all involved in 4-H and she also got involved.  She served as a General Leader for the Paris Livewires 4-H club, a County Fair Superintendent and a 4-H Foods Project Teacher for 44 years.  As Foods Project Teacher, she got to teach cooking and baking skills to her kids, grandkids and countless others in the community.  That teaching degree came in real handy.

She truly knew what she was teaching because she won the coveted title of Kenosha County Fair Champion Baker, an unprecedented 10 times as an adult Fair entrant!

Jane was a self-avowed "people person" and had a great sense of humor.  It was a combination of her sense of humor, iron-will and faith that got her through all of life's challenges – and there were plenty of them.  The auto accident that nearly took both her and Ray's lives in '72 was one of the biggest.  She sustained life-threatening injuries in the accident, but there was no way she was leaving 5 young kids without a mom.  She persevered through 50+ surgeries over the course of her life, all of which likely resulted from the car accident.

Notwithstanding all she got involved in – she always placed her role as mother first.  She maintained that it was her job to worry about and assist any family member in need – so they wouldn't have to worry, and she'd make every effort to help them through whatever their challenges were.  She was very proud of her 5 children, 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren (2 additional on the way) and all they had accomplished.

She was a proud member of the St. Jude League, Bristol Homemakers & Birthday Club, R.S.V.P. Master Chorus and St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

Left to remember Jane are her 3 siblings: John Holland (Carol), Paul Holland (Marilyn) and Linda Coulter.  She is also survived by her children: Jane Arbet-Meyers (Bob), Ray Arbet (Marla), Mary Fenske (Mike), Mike Arbet (Anne) and Judy Kirchner (Dave).  Grandchildren: Jonathon Neau (Jessica), Jordan Neau (Jessica), Kayla Schultheis (Cameron), Jaron Arbet, Jonah Arbet, Mitchell Fenske (Kelley), Marcus Fenske (Emily), Madison Little (James), Michael Fenske, Alistair Arbet, Edmund Arbet and Daniel Kirchner (Chaesta).  Greatgrandchildren: Makenna Fenske, Kimber Fenske, Owen Fenske, Wyatt Neau and James Little V.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, a bother in infancy, her nephew and her husband of 57 years.

A private service of Christian burial will be held at St. George's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to St. Jude's Hospital, St. Anthony's Catholic Church or the Legacy at St. Joseph's.
