Sturtevant- Jane E. Wildfong (nee Wendorf), 89, passed away on October 20, 2017 at Ascension All Saints Hospital. She was born May 20, 1928 to Winfield and Helen (nee Chapman) Wendorf in Flint, MI. She graduated in 1945 from LaPeer High School in Michigan. Jane married Jay Wildfong on January 16, 1948 and together they raised three children. Jane worked for many years as the bookkeeper for Wolohan Lumber Yard. She was a dedicated mother and homemaker and later a loving grandmother and great-grandmother. As the matriarch of her family, Jane's home was always open and welcoming with many hosted meals for Thanksgiving and Christmas over the years. Jane was a talented seamstress and embroiderer and baker of bread. She made her own Christmas cards each year which have become treasured family heirlooms. Jane liked caring for her flower gardens and was known for her "bed of flowers" for all to see in her front yard. Jane and Jay enjoyed traveling all over the world visiting such places as Mexico, Venezuela, Panama, Alaska, Algiers, and many others.

Jane is survived by her husband, Jay; their children, Jay II (Rochelle) Wildfong and Rochelle (Jack Barry) Wildfong; 8 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Jane was preceded in death by her daughter, Marilyn Wildfong; grandson, Jason Wildfong; her parents; and her brother, Bill Wendorf.
The family would like to thank Dr. Gullberg and the staff of doctors and nurses in the ICU who lovingly cared for Jane during her final illness.

The family suggests donations to the Sylvania Cemetery Association where daughter, Marilyn, is laid to rest.

Visitation will be held at Miller-Reesman Funeral Home in Union Grove on Tuesday, October 24 from 5 – 8 pm and again on Wednesday, October 25 from 9-10am. Memorial service will begin at 10 am. Burial will immediately follow at West Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
