Kansasville - Jerald Gilbert Winkelman, age 78, passed away on October 2, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on July 28, 1946, to parents Lyle and Evelyn (nee. Kamrath) Winkelman. Jerry graduated from Burlington High School and went on to work for American Roller for forty years. Jerry was a proud US Marine Veteran and served in the Vietnam War.  He was united in marriage to Linda Krueger on August 8, 1970, and together they had one son. Jerry and Linda were longtime members of St. Peter's Parish. He loved everything about the outdoors especially mowing the lawn and hunting and camping on his property in Black River Falls. Above all, he loved spending time with his friends, family and grandchildren.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Linda; son, Scott (Tammi) Winkelman; grandchildren, Logan, Hunter, and Nolan Winkelman; siblings, Ron (June) Winkelman, Duane (Karleen) Winkelman, Betty Zimmerman, and Keith (Lori) Winkelman; siblings in law, Peggy Sloboda, Karl (Sherry) Krueger, Susan (Gary) Flashberger, Gloria Schmidt, Dale (Debby) Krueger, Keith (Ling) Krueger, Bruce Krueger, and Brian Krueger; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Evelyn Winkelman; sister, Carol Ann Winkelman; and brothers-in-law, Jerome Sloboda and Jim Zimmerman.

A visitation will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church Waterford from 1:00 pm – 2:45 pm. A memorial service will begin at 3 pm and full military honors will immediately follow. Jerry will be laid to rest at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery on a later date.
