Wind Lake - John Harvey Canfield, 60, passed away February 17, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospital surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born on October 3, 1964, to Harvey and Monique (nee Bachet) Canfield in Fort Sumter, South Carolina. He grew up in Gautier, Mississippi and enlisted in the Air Force in 1982 right after graduating High School. He served as an Aircraft Maintenance Specialist and was the Air Force C130 Crew Chief in Biloxi, MS. John continued to work in the airline industry. He was an FAA Designated Airworthiness Representative and worked at Amphenol as a Regulatory Compliance Engineer. John met the love of his life, Jo Ann Foust, and married her December 12, 1982. During their 42-year marriage, they lovingly raised four children traveling to several states and in Italy as a contract employee with Raytheon/ BASI for the military before finally settling in Wisconsin to be close to his best friend, Darryl.

John loved life and enjoyed the excitement of riding motorcycles with his wife and friends and hunting with the Nelson Family. He also sought the serenity experienced while camping and spending time with family. They all enjoyed traveling together.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Jo Ann; their children, Heather Canfield, Eric (Nick) Canfield, Brittany Canfield (Kyle Crandall), Kuuipo (Justin) Canfield; grandchildren, Isabella, Ethan, Maple, and Julien; mother, Monique; Aunt Irene Milan; sister, Sandrine Nelson, nephew, Chase Nelson, and niece, Gabrielle Nelson (Isaac Vlahos); and best friends, Darryl and Nancy Massey.

John was preceded in death by his father, Harvey.

Visitation for John's friends and family will be held at Miller-Reesman Funeral Home on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 5-7 pm. Prayer service will begin at 7 pm. Burial with full military honors at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran's Memorial Cemetery will be held Friday, February 28 at 2 pm.
