John "Unc" Louis Demant, 91, was born February 20, 1924, died November 8, 2015. His parents were Louis and Clara (nee Sorensen) Demant. John was born at home in Kenosha Township. He was a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church his entire life. John was a farmer and milk hauler, bringing milk from the farmers to the dairy and also a rural letter carrier out of the Sturtevant Post Office. He was a member of a bowling team for many years and enjoyed hunting with his brother and his nephews. He also went out to Northern California to hunt with his brother, George. Unc enjoyed having his nieces and nephews running to him with some of their school work. He especially enjoyed helping with algebra, trig, and history questions, too. He also drew many pictures in pencil and chalk. John was a kind, Christian man who was loved by all. He will be dearly missed.

John is survived by two brothers, Roy Demant and George (Elna) Demant and one sister, Joyce (Roger) Kaiser. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Lee (Patty) Demant, John (Linda) Demant, Daniel Demant, Larry Demant, Jay (Gisele) Demant, Judith (Mike) LaFrania, Kim (Cory) Steffensen, Susan (Willie) Maryland, Joyce Ellen (Jerry) Holzbauer, Rev. Paul (Linda) Demant, Phillip (Roxanne) Demant, Dana (Lauren) Demant, and David (Patricia) Demant.

He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Loretta Demant; a nephew, Gerald Demant; and two infant siblings, Dorothy Marie and Charles Edward.

The visitation will be held at Miller-Reesman Funeral Home on Saturday, November 14 from 10 -11:30 am with the memorial service officiated by Pastor Mary Janz to begin at 11:30 am. Burial at West Lawn Memorial Cemetery will immediately follow.
