Obituary

Union Grove - John W. Martin, age 74, passed away at Aurora Medical Center - Kenosha on February 4, 2022. He was born March 15, 1947 to John and Lillian Martin. He was a proud U.S. veteran, mechanic, welder and jack of all trades throughout his life.

John served in the U.S. army for 10 years during the Vietnam War. He loved to fish the many lakes around him, cook, do woodworking, paint, watch the Packers and was an avid movie watcher.  He enjoyed his home in the Northwoods (Suring, WI) where he spent many years living in the home he and his father fixed up. He loved having a cold beer while telling stories with family and friends.  We will miss his stories and his unfiltered sense of humor.
John was preceded in death by his parents John and Lillian Martin. He is survived by his son John (Katherine) Martin, his grandkids John "Jack" Martin, Noelle Martin and Caleb Martin, his siblings Mary Lepich, Diana (Dean) Liberski, George Martin, Karen O'Donnell, and Alice Gilbert; along with his many nephews and nieces.


Visitation will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 at the funeral home from 4:00 - 5:30 pm. Memorial services and full military honors will immediately follow at 5:30 pm. Private interment at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
