John B. Mutter, 85, of Union Grove, passed away on December 13, 2016 at Burlington Rehabilitation Center. He was born January 19, 1931 in Burlington, WI to Gordon and Gertrude (nee Harry) Mutter. John married Loraine Koenen on November 10, 1951 during a snow storm at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lyons, WI. John was a proud Army Veteran and served his country from February 27, 1952 – February 26, 1954. He was a member of the Franksville VFW. John ran his farm until 1967. He also worked at Maas and Sons, Union Grove Feed Mill, Oakes and Sons, and retired from Maple Leaf Farms.

John is survived by his wife, Loraine; their children, John (Karen) Mutter, Patricia (Mike) Hanson, David (Nancy) Mutter, Nancy (Dave) Maerzke, Ellen (Ken) Castle, William (Lisa) Mutter, Robert (Shelly) Mutter, and son-in-law, Robert Bork; 17 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, James (Beverly) Mutter; his sister, Jane Tuinstra; and his sister-in-law, Judy Chase.
John was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Bork; parents, Gordon and Gertrude; parents-in-law Martin and Helen Koenen; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Yanny and Lynn Koenen; and brothers-in-law, Richard Chase and Harold Koenen.

Visitation will be held at St. Mary's Church in Dover on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 3-6 pm. Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Fr. Russell Arnett will begin at 6 pm. Burial of ashes with full military honors will take place at a future date.
