Caledonia – John Stanley Pioro passed away at age 102 on April 2, 2024, at his residence in Caledonia Wisconsin. John was born in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. He was one of nine siblings born to Frank and Mary Pioro on a small family farm and was delivered by a local midwife. John served his country during WWII, (from November 4, 1942, through November 24, 1945) in the Army Air Force and was stationed mainly in India and Burma. After the war John married Belvina Liebe and were blessed with two children, David and Estelle. He then relocated the family to Wausau Wisconsin for the next three years where he opened a main street tavern calling it "Johnnie's Deluxe Bar". Looking for a brighter family future, John again relocated his family to Kenosha and finally to Racine, Wisconsin. Goldblatts department store hired John to maintain the buildings heating and cooling systems which lasted until the end of Johns career. Retirement led John and Belle to a home near Higden, Arkansas where the two spent most of their time fishing on Greers Ferry Lake which they referred to as being in heaven.

John is survived by his son David Pioro; grandchildren, Jole (Dina) Pioro of Arkansas and Johnathon Pioro of Arizona; great-grandchildren, Aubrie (Levi) LaClair, Richard and Russell Pioro; great-great-grandchildren, Genevieve, Liam, and Adaline LaClair.

John was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Mary, wife Belvina, daughter Estelle and son-in-law Russ Jewett, and his nine siblings.

A visitation for John, as well as Belle, Estelle and Russ, will be held at Holy Spirit Parish in Stevens Point, 2151 Stanley St. Stevens Point, WI 54481, Wednesday April 17, 2024, from 10 am – 11 am with Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11 am. The burial will take place at Guardian Angel Cemetery following Mass.
