Joseph Knudsen, 73, passed away peacefully at the Wheaton Franciscan Medical Center-All Saints on June 26, 2018. He was born December 25, 1944 to Alonzo M. and Margaret C. (nee Arbet) Knudsen in Brighton, WI. Although he and his brother, James, were diagnosed as young children with phenylketonuria, their devoted parents cared for them at home as long as they could. When they required additional care as young adults, James and Joseph moved to live at the Southern Wisconsin Center in 1958. This was the most wonderful blessing for the family as they received care and love as they would have in their own home. Their mother, Margaret, continued to visit them on a daily basis until her own health prevented it. Joseph loved tomato juice. He enjoyed all of the public outings that he was able to attend.
Joseph is survived by his Aunt, Jane Arbet of Kenosha; his cousin and guardian of 26 years, Mary (David) Knudsen Pagliaroni, and many other cousins and relatives.
Joseph was preceded in death by his mother in 2010; his father in 1975; and his brother, James in 2015.
Visitation for Joseph will be held at St. Anthony Parish in Kenosha on Saturday, June 30, 2018 from 10-11 am. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 am. Burial will immediately follow at St. George Cemetery in Kenosha.
