Joseph Alvin Posler, 92, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025, in the loving arms of his family. He was born January 13th, 1933 in Milwaukee, WI to Adam and Christina (Hassler) Posler. He was the youngest of eight brothers and sisters. He grew up in Milwaukee until the age of 12. He then moved to Danbury to live with his sister, Marcella after the passing of his mother. He graduated from Webster High School in 1951. Following graduation, Joe moved back to Milwaukee to start his career as a butcher at Soden's Food Market. In 1953, he met the love of his life, Jane Moore, at the Eagle's Ball Room. Joe was a proud Army Veteran having been drafted later in 1953 and served in the Korean War until 1955. Joe and Jane later married in 1957 and raised 2 children together.

He ultimately worked at Wonder Bread/Hostess and retired after 26 years in 1987. In 1990, Joe and Jane moved to Minocqua, WI to enjoy the beauty of the Northern Woods. Joe was an avid fisherman and loved his time casting into the water. He was actively involved with Holy Family Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus in Woodruff, WI. He had many hobbies and interests including taxidermy, making fishing lures and deer antler trinkets, and volunteering in the community.  Joe will be remembered most for his love for fishing, playing cribbage, listening to polka music and the incredible dedication to his family.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Joseph is survived by his children, Frederick (Vicki) Posler and Victoria (Thomas) Valenza; his grandchildren, Kathryn (Wayland) Barton, Kyle (Samantha) Valenza, Emily (Colby) Letwak, and Brandon (Alyssa) Valenza; great-grandchildren, Serena, Allie, and Wyatt Letwak and Baby Valenza.

Joseph was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jane; his parents, Adam and Christina; and siblings, Frank, Marie, Ed, Otto, Marcella, Lester, Frieda.

Visitation for friends and family will be at St. Clare Catholic Church in Wind Lake on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 9 am - 11 am. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 am. Burial with full military honors will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Milwaukee at 12:30 pm.
