Burlington - Kathleen E. Vogelsang, 94, passed away on August 3, 2016 in the loving presence of her family. She was born June 21, 1922 to Frank and Julia (nee Freund) Spieker and grew up on a farm just outside of Burlington, WI. Kathleen was able to graduate from High School at age 16 and continued her love of learning throughout her life. She married John Vogelsang and together they raised four children. Kathleen was a piano teacher and taught music to over 500 students during her career. She was a member of the Lyceum Club in Burlington and the National Guild of Piano Teachers. Always very involved in her children's lives, she was an active leader for the Girl and Boy Scouts while they were growing up. Kathleen enjoyed taking many exotic trips around the world.

Kathleen is survived by her children, Barb (Bob) Fairclough, Tom Vogelsang, Pat (Ron) Lois, and Jim (Janet) Vogelsang; grandchildren, Jeff Fairclough, Brian (Jessica) Lois, Julia (Brian) Geerdts, Jacob Vogelsang, and Adam (Taylor) Vogelsang; great-grandchildren, Danielle Ransom, Brandon and Andrew Lois, and Gabe and Preston Geerdts; and her brother, Roy (Ethel) Spieker.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, John.

Visitation for Kathleen's family and friends will be held Saturday, August 6, 2016 from 10 – 11 am at St. Mary Church in Burlington. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 am. Inurnment will immediately follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
