Laura J. Lossman, of Union Grove, passed away at her home on June 27, 2020, one day after her 95th birthday.

Laura was born in Somers, WI on June 26, 1925 to Christoff and Pauline Grohs. She married Floyd M. Lossman on her parents 25th wedding anniversary, August 31, 1946. She worked for several manufacturers during WWII, drove school bus for Union Grove area schools and was a library aid at Graham Public Library in Union Grove. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 171 Union Grove for more than 35 years and served as its president for seven terms. Along with Floyd, she volunteered for the Union Grove Area Foodbank for over 30 years.

Laura loved her family dearly and was proud of every one of them. Her generosity of spirit gave her a special talent for taking care of others and lending her shoulder to lean on. She enjoyed camping, sewing, gardening, baking, game shows, and shopping at thrift stores and rummage sales. She had an affinity for handbags!

Left to cherish Laura's memory are her children, Sandyll Mannix (Richard Arfsten), Douglas Sr. (Cheryl), and Laurel (Joseph) Starosta; grandchildren Douglas Jr. and Miles Lossman; grandchildren, Catherine and Jacob Starosta; six great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; other family; special friends; and her dog, Sugar.

Laura was preceded in death by her husband Floyd; infant son, Gregory; parents; son-in-law, Patrick Mannix; sister Marge Scheffel; other family and dear friends.

Per Laura's wishes, a private family service and inurnment was held on Monday, July 6, 2020 at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove. A celebration of life for Laura will be held at a later date.
