Union Grove- Len E. Tabbert, 88, passed away on October 1, 2021, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease.  He was born in Somers, WI on October 9, 1932.  He was the youngest of four children of Ernest and Alice Tabbert.  Lene went to local schools.  He served in the U.S. Army as a M.P. stationed at Fort Belvoir, VA during the Korea Conflict.  After returning home, Lene and his older brother, "Bunk", were descent to become carpenters and eventually they took over the family business, Tabbert Construction Builders.  In 1968, Lene and Bunk joined the Carpenter's Union.  Both went to work for Camosy Construction Inc. where he worked as a field superintendent until his retirement.

Upon retirement, Lene moved up north to the small town of Springstead, WI where he joined his two sisters and their husbands.  Lene loved his Friday night fish frys with family members and friends.  Lene's hobbies included trap and rifle target shooting, four-wheeling, and yard work.  But his real passion was his exceptional woodworking ability to make furniture and clocks.  He made sure all his relatives received some type of clock.  He was an avid Packer and Brewer fan.  Lene was a past member of the Somers Fire Department, Somers American Legion Post 552, Carpenter's Union Local 250, and a proud lifetime member of the N.R.A.

He is survived by his two children, Vicky (Jeff) Gunderson of Union Grove, Craig (Dawn Anderson) of Somers, WI; one brother, Bunk (Dee) Tabbert, three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren with one on the way; also leaving many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters and two brothers-in-law, June (Donald) Luke and Helen (Al) Schlitz.

The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to the staff of Timber Oaks: Jackie, Becca, Michaela, Sally, Lucy, and Randy.  Also to Allay Hospice: his nurse, Heather and Reverend Gene.

Burial at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery will take place November 15, 2021 at 12 noon.
