Belvidere, IL (formerly Union Grove, WI) – Linda Lee Ohlsen (nee Volling), 79, passed away December 18, 2024. She was born on June 23, 1945, to Arthur and Helen Mae (nee Bedell) Volling. She was a member of Mauston High School Class of 1963 and attended Madison Business College in 1964. After school, she worked for Wisconsin Farm Co (now Rural Insurance) from 1964-1968 and settled at Marquette Savings Bank (now North Shore Bank) from January 5, 1987 – August 1, 2019. Linda was married to the late Eugene Kaminski from 1968-1982 and the late Larry Ohlsen from 1991-2019.

Linda's hobbies were many and varied. They included crossword puzzles, gardening from seeds in her basement greenhouse, and sewing costumes and clothing including dresses, formal wear, and men's shirts, and a tad of quilting. She was also a member from 1975-1987 of the Tuesday morning bowling league and was lucky enough to throw over 200 twice in her life.

Linda was a faithful person and attended church at Union Grove Methodist Church from 1968-1972, Union Grove Baptist Church from 1972-2019, and then Maywood Evangelical Free Church from 2019-present.

Traveling was a passion of hers and she went on numerous family road trips over the years visiting 31 of the 50 States in the US: South Dakota, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, Florida, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Louisiana, California, Arkansas, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Missouri, Mississippi, Maryland, New York, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee, Kentucky, Texas, Kansas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Wyoming, Minnesota, Illinois, and Wisconsin. Her last big hurrah was a cruise to Cabo San Lucas and Ensenada in 2004 with her daughter, Rhonda. She was able to take a trolley ride, go to the San Diego Zoo, and got to see a baby panda and a baby giraffe that was just born.

Linda is survived by her daughters, Laurie (Hondro) Martinez and Rhonda (Lance) Myers; grandchildren, Tawny (Christopher Watts) Martinez, Cheyanne Martinez (Michael Uttech), Mackenzie Myers and Nina Myers; step-daughters, Lori (Jon) Speck and Lynn (Mike) Mrotek;  brother, Glenn (Joyce) Volling; sister-in-law, Carol Volling; and many nieces and nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her husbands; grandson, Riker Martinez; parents; grandparents, Frank and Hazel Bedell, and Conrad and Emma Volling; siblings, Arthur, Susan, Arnold, and James Leroy, several brothers and sisters-in-law; and numerous other relatives.

Visitation will be held at Miller-Reesman Funeral Home on Sunday, December 22 from 12 noon -2 pm. Prayer service will begin at 2 pm. Private burial will take place at West Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
