Oconomowoc – Lucille E. Mainz (nee Stanke), 91, passed away on August 27, 2016 at the Union Grove Veterans Home. She was born November 29, 1924 to Edward and Margaret Stanke in the farming community of Eagle Lake, Minnesota. Lucille was a proud WWII Navy WAVES Veteran serving from April 1945 to August 1946. She was a member of the American Legion and a long-time volunteer at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee. After her service, she worked as a beautician and then as an airline attendant for Northwest Airlines until she married Dudley Frank Mainz on June 29, 1950 and moved to Oconomowoc, WI. She worked as a book keeper for Dudley's business. Lucille raised her four young children on her own after losing her husband when she was just 43 years old. She worked as a Nurse's Aide and later as a teaching assistant at Park Lawn School in Oconomowoc. Her children were blessed with her dedication to them and her loving ways. She spent her free time dancing on the weekends and enjoyed reading and listening to music.

Lucille is survived by her children, Sherry (Richard) Bavolek, Dick Mainz, Judy (Kevin) Foley, and Jeffrey (Pam) Mainz; her grandchildren, Nathan (Rebecca) Bavolek, Jeremy (Kristin) Bavolek, Paul (Emily) Mainz, Mark Mainz, Ryan Foley, Lauren Foley, Kevin Foley, Kayd Mainz, Kole Mainz, and Kaen Mainz; and her great grandchildren, Julianna, Ryker, Camden, Bennett, Samantha, Triston, and Peyton.

Visitation for Lucille's family and friends will be held at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center Chapel on Friday, September 2, 2016 at 10 am. Memorial service will begin at 11 am. She will be cremated and buried with her husband, Dudley, at LaBelle Cemetery in Oconomowoc, WI.
