Union Grove – Margaret Rushing (nee Kinard), 93, died March 26, 2023, at her home. She was born November 10, 1929, to Willie and Effie (nee Miller) Kinard in Mississippi. She married James Earl Rushing and together they raised three children. Margaret and her family moved from Mississippi to Union Grove in 1952 in search of better jobs. Other family members soon followed suit, including from the Rushing, McBryde, McClelland and Kinard families, many of them staying with Margaret and James Earl until they could get established into their own homes. Margaret and James Earl were the pioneers of their families making Union Grove their home; Margaret was the last one of her generation to make Heaven her eternal home. Margaret loved Gospel music and spending time with family and friends. In her earlier years, she enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, and playing cards. Margaret worked for 36 years as a nurse's aid at the Southern Wisconsin Center in Union Grove.

Margaret is survived by her children, James Earl (Janice) Rushing, Elizabeth Ann (Ray) Gray-Rushing; and Bob (Monica) Rushing; grandchildren, Valerie (Dave) Link, Andrea Rushing, Paul Rushing, Jolene Rushing, Robert Rushing, Bill (Lauren) Rushing, and Mark (Lily) Rushing; great-grandchildren, Devin, Bennett, Reese, Hayes, Tara, and Lilith; great-great grandchildren, Kayla, Robbie, Christopher; and sister-in-law, Sandy Kinard.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, James Earl; granddaughter, Rachel Rushing; and siblings, John (Mary) Kinard, Tiny (Gertrude) Kinard, Jack Kinard, and Lester Kinard.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Miller-Reesman Funeral Home from 10 am – 12 noon. Prayer service will begin at 12 noon. Burial at the Union Grove Cemetery will take place at 12:30.
