Sturtevant – Martin "Marty" C. Dastrup passed away at his residence on October 11, 2022. He was born May 15, 1943, to Charles and Dorothy (Sura) Dastrup. On May 5, 1979, he married, the love of his life, Mary Jo, together they had five children. Martin worked for JI Case for 25 years painting tractors. He had a passion for fishing and hunting, especially duck and goose. Also, he enjoyed cooking, baking, coloring and doing crosswords. Anyone who knew Martin would tell you he was the biggest chatterbox. His all-time favorite hobby was to spend as much time with his grandkids. If you asked any of them, they would say his biggest accomplishment was being the 'Best Damn Grandpa Ever'.

Martin is survived by his children Kim Nguyen (Keith Warfield), Allen (Eve) Tappa, Keylee (Nathan) Manincor, Kristyl (Daniel) Marten; grandchildren Corina, Bradlee, Kaylee, Dominique, Justin, Allen, Trisha, Kelsi, Miah, Charlie, Caleb, Khia, LJ, and Kalli; multiple great grandkids and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Martin was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Jo; daughter Kammy Morgan, and siblings Bill Dastrup and Sue Morano.

To my Munchkin, La'Niya, you were always watching over me, so now it's Papa and Miley's turn to watch over you. -Love, Papa.

Services will be held at Miller-Reesman Funeral Home on Saturday October 15, 2022, from 11 am – 1 pm. Memorial service will begin at 1 pm. Private burial will be held at Union Grove Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
