Paris- Marvin D. Myers, 75, passed away unexpectedly at his home on November 12, 2017. He was born October 4, 1942 to Walter and Hazel (nee Reidenbach) Myers in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Marvin attended Paris Grade School in the first years of the school. He graduated from Salem Central High School in 1960. Marvin married Penny Fry on August 22, 1964 and, despite divorcing in 1992, they remained close, loving partners and parents to their two daughters and their grandson. Marvin lived and worked on the family farm as a fourth generation pig farmer with his brother, Lorin. He loved his pigs and was devoted to the craft of breeding Chester White pigs. Marvin was the breeder of "Blue Chip," the pig that changed the industry for the Chester White swine breed. A long time exhibitor at the State Fair, he raised the 1965 Grand Champion Swine. Over the years he was involved in 4-H and had been on the livestock committee. For many years he and his brother donated the trophy for Swine Master Showman at the fair. Marvin's farming was greatly enhanced by two men whom he felt were like sons to him, Jordan Dye and Chris Kordecki, whose help was invaluable to him in recent years.

Marvin enjoyed watching IndyCar racing, WI Badgers and other college sports, and the Packers. It was his dream come true to finally watch the Cubs win the World Series. Marvin never traveled far from home but had a blast for his 70 ^th Birthday when he took his first plane ride to Las Vegas and actually came home a winner! Marvin was always positive and had a great sense of humor and was always quick with a quip or a joke. His daughters and family will miss hearing: "The kid is back!" or "Really?" or "Honestly?" or "Is that right?"

Marvin is survived by his daughters, Janet (Jeff) Gumm and Donna Nickel (Russ Kirschbaum); his grandson, Kyle Nickel; his former wife, Penny; his brother, Lorin (Irene) Myers, Sr.; nephews and niece, Lorin (Linda) Myers, Jr., John (Diane) Myers, and Julie Myers; and his beloved pets, Daisy, his dog and Baby Bear, his cat.

Visitation will be held at Miller-Reesman Funeral Home on Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 5-7 pm and Friday, November from 10 – 11 am. Memorial service will begin at 11 am. Burial will immediately follow.
