Union Grove - Maxcine King (nee Wilsey), 86, passed away on October 1, 2016 in the loving presence of her family. She was born March 26, 1930 to Meril and Antonia (nee Termatinger) Wilsey in Sturtevant, WI. She graduated from Horlick High School. Maxcine married Charles L. King on January 9, 1948 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Racine and together they raised three children. She worked as a CNA at the Southern Wisconsin Center for many years and retired from there. Family was important to her and Charles and they fostered over 50 children in their home. She was a mother to many, but everyone called her Grandma or "G."

She enjoyed needle work and did crocheting, knitting, sewing, and quilting. She made many baby sweaters, hats, and blankets that she donated to charity. Her family will treasure the projects she made for them as heirlooms. Plate collecting and doll collecting were favorite hobbies of hers.

Maxcine is survived by her children, Charles (Rita) King, Kevin King, and Debbie King; her grandchildren, Amy Forgetta-King, Jennifer King, Justin King, Stephanie (Duane) Bedford-King, Becky King; great-grandchildren, Briana Brand, Skylar Palmer, Blaize Forgetta, D.J. Bedford, Joshua Bedford; and great-great grandchild, Dashtin Dominger; special family friends, April and Joel Symoens; her sister, Betty Johnson and her niece, Linda Johnson; her closest colleagues and friends, Bea and Ethel; and Doris, her pen pal of more than 60 years.

Maxcine was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her parents; and 9 siblings.

Graveside services will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 1 pm. Per Maxcine's wishes, memorials to the King family would be appreciated.
