Racine – Michael James Duchac, age 49 passed away unexpectantly on September 18, 2026. Born on May 18, 1977, to Sally Hoeffert, Michael was a loving brother, uncle, and friend who touched the lives of many with his infectious laughter and unique sense of humor. 

A proud graduate of Case High School's Class of 1995 and went on to college at Parkside. Michael dedicated his career to Northwestern Mutual, where his passion for computers shone brightly. He was a lifelong learner, always seeking knowledge in philosophy and beyond, and he found solace and peace in his practice of Buddhism. 

Michael is survived by his beloved sister, Leighann Chambers; his cherished nephews, Dylan (Morgan) Chambers-Thomas and Liam Papara; and his very special bonus moms, June White and Sumiko Cummings. He leaves behind a wonderful tapestry of cousins, friends, and his Buddhist community, all of whom will carry his spirit and laughter in their hearts. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sally Hoeffert, and his niece, Samantha George. While we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the incredible person he was and the light he brought into our lives. As we remember Michael “Mikey Duke”, let us do so with joy, laughter, and the love he shared so freely. Rest in peace, dear friend; your journey continues in the hearts and memories of those you have touched.

Funeral services will be held on a date yet to be determined, where we will gather together as a community to honor Michael’s life, share stories, and enjoy the laughter he brought to us all. Details about the ceremony and gathering will be shared soon, and we invite all who knew Michael to join us in this celebration of his life.
