Kenosha - Michele Lynn Markiewicz (Scanlan), 70, passed away January 3, 2026, at Hospice Alliance Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie. She was born on July 13, 1955, to Leonard and Kathleen (Richards) Scanlan in Salem, WI. She graduated as the salutatorian of her class at Salem Central High School and received a bachelor's degree in pharmacy from UW Madison. Michele married her best friend, Gerald (Jerry) Lee Markiewicz on July 20, 1991, and together they raised two children. She worked as the Director of Medical Services at Abbot Labs PPD Division. Jerry got her involved in going to car shows and working on hot rod cars and attending swap meets, which made her a lifelong treasure hunter. Her true pleasure in life was running her own antique store: Flat Iron Vintage in Kenosha. She loved making sure that history was passed down for other people's enjoyment as it allowed her to keep looking for even more hidden treasures.

Michele is survived by her beloved husband, Jerry; children, Alexander Charles Markiewicz, Sophia Lynn (Noel) Markiewicz, and stepdaughter, Selby Marie (Ronald) Rodriguez; mother, Kathleen; brother, Leonard Scanlan; niece Meghan Scanlan (Anuar); nephew, Matthew (Madison) Scanlan; and great-nephew Hayden Scanlan. She is further survived by Gerald's siblings, John (Judy) Markiewicz, George (Tracy) Markiewicz, Mary Jo (David) Salas; and Cheryl (Milt) Ketchum.

Michele was preceded in death by her father, Leonard and sister-in-law, Linda Brazeau.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at Christ King Church in Kenosha with date and time pending.
