Monserate Ortiz (the Moochie), age 70, passed away Sunday, January 30th, 2022, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, Wi surrounded by his loving children.

He was born April 3rd, 1951, in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico to Emiliano Ortiz and Isabel Crespo. He came to Kenosha, WI as a child. He was educated at local schools and graduated from Tremper High School Class of 69. He married Pamela (Principe) on November 1, 1969. They later divorced after 24 years of marriage. Mooch worked at the Kenosha Engine Plant (Chrysler) and retired after 35 years. After retirement he enjoyed working for Jim Pizzas delivering products to local stores.

He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and his life partner Conner (Connie Osborne). He loved hosting cook outs at his house, especially the 4th of July parade, and loved cars, especially his 1969 Mustang and his 1992 Corvette. Everyone who knows Mooch, know him for his witty and sarcastic sense of humor. He was truly loved by all!

He loved his Cubs and Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers and enjoyed watching games with his brother Fred. Mooch enjoyed bowling, softball and casino trips.

He is survived by his children Kelly Moten, Kevin Ortiz, July (Melvin) Foster, Emil (Anessa) Ortiz, Nicholas (Andrea) Ortiz, Ammie (Keoni) Roberson and his 22 grandchildren, whom he loved more than life, his life partner Connie Osborne and 9 brothers and sisters. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Isabel and Emiliano and his brother David Ortiz and sister, Betty Starke.

Celebration of Life will take place on Monday Feb 7th from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Miller-Reesman Funeral Home at 620- 15th Avenue with a small dinner to follow at the American Legion Hall - Post 171, 1027 New Street, Union Grove.

Mooch's ashes will be dispersed by his children later this year, where he was born in Puerto Rico. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted.
