Union Grove- Muriel J. Murdoch (nee Kreuscher), 84, passed away on April 30, 2018 at her home with her loving family surrounding her. She was born September 25, 1933 to William and Laura (nee Prange) Murdoch in Paris Township.  Her mother, Laura, died when Muriel was a week old so she was cared for by her devoted grandmother, Katherine Kreuscher, until she was one and half years old.  Throughout her life, Muriel and her grandmother loved each other as a mother and daughter would.  They remained very close to each other visiting at least weekly even as Muriel became a married woman and new mother herself.  Muriel graduated from Union Grove High School.  She married Richard Dale Murdoch in 1953 and together they raised four children.  Muriel tried to emulate her grandmother and was a wonderful, hard working mother and home maker to her own family.  She was very active in the St. Paul's Lutheran Church serving as parish secretary and teaching catechism for over twenty years.

Muriel is survived by her husband, Richard; children, Kevin (Rhonda) Murdoch, Bryan (Terri) Murdoch, and Mark (Amy) Murdoch; grandchildren, Amanda (Joel Radakovich) Murdoch, Nicole Murdoch, Amber (Brian) Kraus, Andrew Murdoch (Kristen Verre), Paige Murdoch, and Tabatha Apfel (Mat Formanek); great-grandchildren, Dawsyn Kraus and Lucyl Formanek; and sister, Lucille Hardie.

Muriel was preceded in death by her daughter, Joan Murdoch Davidson; parents, William and Laura Kreuscher; grandparents, Katherine and Jacob Kreuscher; Richard's parents, Harold and Ethel Murdoch; and siblings, Dorothy Holloway, Warren Kreuscher, Laverne Sullivan, Ronald Kreuscher, Marilyn Hubeler, and Delbert Kreuscher.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, May 3, 2018 from 4-7 pm at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Further visitation will be held at the same place on Friday, May 4 from 10 – 10:45 am.  Funeral services will begin at 11 am.  Burial will follow at Union Grove Memorial Cemetery.
